Hi all, hope you guys can give me some insights to the mentioned above system.

I am currently looking at the Jeol AccuTOF system for my research works and definitely, this DART TOF system is quite interesting, seems to be quite robust and easy to use system with very good mass accuracy.

The works I am interested in involved mainly on organic chemistry structures , as well as some small molecules works; so it would be helpful if you guys can give me some advise on this system.

If there is anyone who is the end user, its even better so that I can know what is the advantages or disadvantages of this system.

I am currently looking at a few other system in the market that have accurate mass measurement:

i) Jeol AccuTOF
ii) Waters QTOF/Synapt
iii) Thermo Orbitrap
iv) AB's QStar Elite

ANy helpful insights to the performances and advantages/disadvantages of the systems will be highly appreciated and I gave you my heartfelt appreciation and thanks.

Ken,

I would consider Bruker and Agilent too. Jeol's is somehow outdated in the TOF part and doesn't have real MS/MS capabilities.

The DART is indeed fascinating but maybe it's worth to consider ASAP (see www.asap-ms.com). Maybe it can work for your samples and costs 1/10.

Best wishes.

Ken,

If you want to e-mail me (cody@jeol.com), we can give you names and contact info for end users that you can contact directly and ask about their experiences with the AccuTOF-DART.

I am really convinced of our Shimadzu LC for Triple Quad. The sales guy then mentionened their IT-TOF -a combination of Trap and TOF for accurate mass determination. Any experiences out there about the performance of that system?

Euro08soccer...I didn't know Shimadzu makes a Tripple Quad...is that an EURO version only? I am in the USA...

Sorry for the misunderstanding. I am not aware of a Shimadzu triple quad either. For Triple quad I was talking about the combination Shimadzu + ABI which works really fine for us.
The sales guy pointed out their LC-MS/MS system called IT-TOF for high mass resolution. They do MS/MS/MS... in a trap and then accurate mass determination with a TOF. No practical experience there but my guess is that this approach works for qualitative analysis and quant where you don't need very low detection limits.
