Why did you buy the Shimadzu ? Anything they offered in perticular that the Agilent didn't ? People want to know.......

I bought some Shimadzus because I had been using Agilent for 10 years and was wondering what the grass was like on the other side of the fence. The Shimadzus are really nice.....Think of an agilent with more bells and whistles. It is a million years easier to maintain, clean, and use....the software is fabulous! It lets you know way in advance what may be going on or needs to be replaced, once tuned it is so stable, that sometimes I can't believe it. I have a QP2010 GCMS and a QP2010 with dual ECD and Dual autosampler (that's really nice). If you can break out of the AGilent rut, I'd highly recommend it! The only thing I had trouble with was learning their lingo and learning the new software, but once I did....I haven't looked back.

I also didn't go to the training classes, which would've helped with those points I'm sure.
My husband still works with Agilents....and I hear all the same stories.... sporadic filaments blowing, difficulty tuning or leaks after venting, etc...etc... He's sick of hearing about my wonderful Shimadzus..... LOL!
If you are thinking about getting one...they will set a demo up for you to play with...give 'em a call.
Good Luck!
