My lab has recently acquired an Agilent GC-MS 6890/5973N with a flip top injection port. Other than the size of the O-ring on the liner, is there any other difference between the flip top inj port and the standard one?

Yes; the flip top is tons easier to use !!! Uses same septa and liners as traditional inlet. You'll check your liners more often now.
