Does anyone have experience with this instrument. We have one and I have been getting leak fail error, not from the cold trap but the tubes. For a while it would fail the first time and pass the second, now its not passing at all. It is not the tubes. I have tested the flow of the splits through the tube. Inlet split will not keep a constant value. Outlet and desorb splits are just fine. The service representative said it sounds like a blocked line and that he will come out a replace the carbon traps and resolve the issue for $4000! This seems a little much for our company. If anyone has any ideas on what I can do, either schematics of the instrument or knowledge where the carbon traps are, or how to fix the blocked line without it costing so much I would appreciate the help.

Hi there.

Did you check the O-ring? Both the small and the big O-ring that are seated in between the inlet and outlet. Hope you understands which one that I am referring to.

When we encountered a leak, what we usually did with the ATD system is to conduct a normal PM and usually this will solve the issue.

All the best !!!

Yeah, I've checked and replace the two in the upper seal as well as the ferrules. I very carefully tightened things back. I'm pretty certain about the blocked line. I just don't know how to fix it.

I see, you dont have the schematic or the service manual with you?

Actually, I have an older version of the ATD ; let me check the manual first and get back to you on how to service the blocked line - hope the setup is similiar with the newer 350.

BTW, we sometimes encountered leak issue again even though we replace new seals and o-rings. Perhaps, you can replace with other rings and seals again; just to double check?

I will get back to you soon, hopefully. Cheers...
