MS/MS instruments with DEP/DCI sample introduction

Discussions about GC-MS, LC-MS, LC-FTIR, and other "coupled" analytical techniques.

In the past years, we have performed lots of lipid analyses with DEP combined with ammonia negative ion-CI-MS/MS. For this, we have used an old Finnigan TSQ 700 instrment that is not working anymore.

Any ideas how to get a VERY affordable (used) instrument with relatively high sensititivity that would enable us to continue with direct exposure technique in the future? GC is not necessary, but temperature programmable probe filament is.

Jusuom,

Does it have to be MS/MS? If not, SIS makes a direct pyroprobe for the 597.. series of mass specs and these you can find used. They might be able to situate you with another MS since they do in house machining. Varian also offered a "pyroprobe" (sort of...) that would have been used in conjunction with their systems. It was based on work by Amirav. I don't know if they still do that since I am unsure of the volume of sales they had.

Best regards.

Probably you can check with waters as they supply DIP ( not DEP ) with thier GC-MS/MS systems
