Sciex API 2000 turbo pump shutting down

Hello all,

I am running a SCIEX API 2000 LC-MS/MS. A couple days ago the roughing pump was turned off in order to change the pump oil. The pump was reconnected, allowed to pump down for 30 minutes and then the MS was turned on.

The MS runs for about five minutes with a flashing green status light before shutting itself down. Then it's no fault lights, no lights at all.

I thought it might be the connections from the roughing pump to the MS. So I checked the O-ring and it looks fine. I even hooked up another roughing pump with the assumption that perhaps a low enough pressure was not being reached and the turbo pump was timing out. Still the same thing happens.

Has anyone encountered this? Do you think that the turbo pump has failed?

Thanks in advance.

Shannon

Hi

There is nothing wrong with your pump. There must be leak somewhere on it. If you have experience looking for it fine, if not try to get service company to look into it, it can be something really small.

Let me know if you need any help

Good Luck
