Vial type

Looking around at the literature I receive from suppliers, there are all different kinds of certifications and claims on vials around things like clean room packing, heat cleaning, MS scans, manufacturing specs... etc.

Are these certifications really important? How do you compare them, and decide which is best for your application?

Hopefully someone more experienced than I has some insight here - I'm confused. Thanks! :)

The best vial is one that does not contribute to your chromatograms, and does not adsorb or react with your sought-for component(s).

What's best for your application depends on what your application is - there is no sense paying extra for ultraclean vials unless you are injecting very dilute solutions, and there is no point in having deactivated vials if you are analysing hydrocarbons for e.g.

^ a good start - any further specific questions can be (happily) answered by a rep from the vial company of your choosing. They are well versed in what vials are purchased for which methods.
