I asked about this before but did not not any real responses. This instrument has been out for about a year now. Has anyone here had any experience with it?

I am looking at it for both large and small molecule work (can not be more specific than that) so if anyone has any experience with this i would really appreciate if you shared how it worked for you and what you see as it's strong and weak points.

Thanks
- Karen

Hi Karen,

We do have a Xevo G2 Q-TOF (Synapt) and it works for us. We do use it large molecules (proteomics) most of the time. There some room for improvement on the software side but it is my understanding that they are about to lunch their next generation.

We are mostly using nano-LC with their TRIZAIC (chip) source for the last 5 months or so.

You do get the resolution advertised, albeit for quite a loss of sensitivity if you go to their high resolution settings. The G2-S model mitigates the sensitivity problem in high-res.

Do you have any specific questions?

Thanks,

Kostas

Hi Karen,

Thanks... but I'm confused... The Synapt line is different from the Xevo G2. The Synapt line consists of high end floor models with resolutions up to 40,000 and can be configured with ion mobility and has a MALDI ion source option.

The Xevo G2 is benchtop instrument with a resolution up to 22000 FWHM.

Which do you have?

Could you please elaborate on that?

Unifi does not have all the MassLynx capabilities yt ands likely won;t for awhile
Do you have any specific questions?
Mainly I was looking for feedback on reliability, maintenance issues, software capabilities, or any specific shortcomings with the Xevo G2.

And if you have experience with other vendors instruments how they compare with it.

Thanks,
- Karen
