Hi guys. Can some one help me to fined the best way to remove fat and protein form a meat extract (SPE, salt. organic solvents or combination). I am analyzing some drug in meat and my analyte I believe is protein could compete with my analyte. I am using SPE method to isolate my compound of interest.

Assuming your analyte is polar, you should be able to get rid of the fat by liquid-liquid extraction using something like hexane. There are lots of ways to get rid of protein; the easiest (albeit not complete) is to add something like acetonitrile to denature and precipitate it. Of course, "the devil is in the details"!
