Analyzing API in sodium chloride-solution on SQMS?

I´m quite new to the MS-technique and need some help
. I am trying to develop an assay for an injectable with an active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) concentration of 0,5 µg/ml in 0,9%NaCl-solution. The signal is too weak on DAD, however I get an excellent response on the single quad MS, response is linear etc when I am injecting 2µl of undiluted sample on a 3x100 mm column.
My question is, can the MS-detector "handle" these small amounts of sodium chloride or am I looking for trouble in the long run? Any suggestions appreciated!
