Total Peak Area Average

Hi,
I am trying to create a custom field (Empower 2) for the average of the total peak areas of three injections so i can use this custom field for a bunch of other calculations but i can't seem to get it to work.
The three injections are labeled R1, R2, and R3.
I tried R%..Ave(Total Area), which i thought would work.
I am now just lost on why i can't get it to work.
