Beckman Detector 166

Hello everyone,

I have an (ancient) beckman system gold hplc setup. One of my detectors is giving me a problem. It will not calibrate and the error log says "lower limit sw failure", in addition the wavelength is stuck at 0 nm when its default position should be at 254 nm. I cleaned the flowcells so I know this isn't the problem. Is it possible that the grating motor is shot? A few of my co workers said that this is a common problem in these old machines. The detector 166 has been off contract a long time ago. Ive tested the microswitch and its ok. I opened up the detector and saw that the grating motor is made by SAIA with the number UBD2N08A15CRZG6 but have had no luck finding it on google. If anybody has had a similar issue and was able to fix their machine let me know.

I have a similar problem. Did you ever figure out what the problem was and how to fix it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated
