Plunger error - needle gets stuck in the inlet

Hello everyone,
since a few days the needle (and everything connected to it) of my agilent 7693A automatic liquid sampler gets stuck in the inlet after a few injections. I never experienced this problem before.
The belt within the injector seems to be tight but frankly spoken I never touched it before so I don't have a comparison. Since the injection mostly works I'd rule out a general problem with the motor. It also does not sound differently than it used to.
Switching the syringe did not help. With both syringes I experienced the same error. Does anyone have an idea about further steps?

Kind regards

Is the septa nut on too tight? If not, it may be time for a rebuild. Agilent has a service where you can either swap yours out for another one, or they will send a loaner while they service yours.
