Dear all:
Who else could help this humble man, who thinks that his advisor/professor is not relevant?
afsar00786: From my past experience, it is important to know your professor (come to his office and introduce yourself!), and visit him often (his office hours are for you!). Ask him which books to read to 'catch up' and to 'refresh' or to 'enhance' your knowledge. You will be more successful as a student.

Rspected Sir,
Thanks for your kind reply and guidelines.Sir I am from such a college where
resources are not at par as per international standeres .The facility
available are very limited in college we are having HPLC,GC
ary does not contain relevent information about the topic of my intrest.
During serach about bioananalytical technique and how to start with i am come to know about the forem .
Sir i am with your suggestion about the guide but imagine the situation in remote place like India we dont have world class facility of instrument and library as well no competent ENVIORNMENT in this field to guide me . .This not the case where I dont have faith in his guidence but He totaly gave me independancy of doing and establishing the new procedure as i can.so in such situation what you will do sir tell me what is wrong in my posting of topic.
Sir its my one year thesis progremm for master of pharmacy so if u will show me way i want to start with basis of bioanalytical procedure start with such a procedure which our resources allow me and after complition of cource try for more exp in said field.
Hoping for Your kind reply
Thanking you.sir

Afsar,
Have you taken any courses at all (i.e. lab courses or theoretical courses) on HPLC or GC? If not you need to learn at least the basics of how it works, what columns are available and how they work, what is the solvent/additive strength for each type of chromatography, what analytes you can analyze with the detector you have in your lab and what other detectors are available etc before you start with the lab work. Plenty of this information can be found in the link below, which is a kind of virtual HPLC book in liquid chromatography. It is a petty that the authors have not updated it for the last several years.

Another good resource to start is the link below (as Tom would have said).

I am sympathetic with the limited resources situation and I have heard (or seen) situations where the office time of your supervisor is not your time...
I have seen in this forum a lot of Indians with experience on the field... maybe they could direct you on some nearby resources or send you copies of a relevant "copy-right free" manuscript...
