Dear all,
I now want to find the right configuration for separation of C2H2-C2H4-C2H6-CH4-propane et propylene in pure O2.
Please let me know which column to select.
Chromatographer already suggested me porapak Q and porapak N for
C2H2-C2H4-C2H6-CH4 in O2 which worked good with a backflush and heartcut configuration.
I also use a FId detector.

My biggest concern is about propane and propylene separation and elution time. I want to use packed column and being able to get all peaks in 15 minutes max.

thank you for your tips

Dany,

I would use a 1% TCEP on Carbopack B column to backflush C4+ and to separate O2/C1, C2s, and C3s for 2-trap capture-separation.

Use a porapak column in one side of a dual trap to trap and separate O2, C1, and C2s.

Use a 1% TCEP on Unibeads 3S to separate propane and propylene on the other side of the trap.

Use a heartcut valve behind this if needed to separate O2 balance to vent.

I would expect a cycle time of less than 8 minutes with this 1- 10 port , and 2 - 6 port valve, BF-trap-HC configuration.

Send me a check for $5000 for the consultant fee. I take Euros or Canadian dollars, too.

Good luck,

Rodney George
