Can the Agilent 5972 filaments be used on the 5971 analyzer? If not, can a modification be made to allow this switch?

It depends on the manufacturer. I believe Agilent filaments can be used on a 5971,72,73 or 75 if they are trapezoid shaped.

The filaments are different, it is probably better to use the one designed for the instrument. If Agilent is too expensive, there are places like SIS that charge less, and SIS will repair filaments.

Wow.... My bad. I was thinking of the electron multipliers we just got. You probably would've figured it out when you tried installing them though. Sorry about that.
